Canada Photo Tour

In the summer of 1993, I rented a car in Vancouver and drove from my home town of Port Alberni on Vancouver Island, all the way to St. John's Newfoundland on the East Coast -- A point closer to Europe than to Vancouver. I drove for about 6 weeks and saw all the major cities and major tourist traps. I put 19,000KM on my odometer and got some really great photos and information of all the major regions of Canada. After returning my car to the rental agency, I flew back to Japan and used the information to make a course in Canadian Studies at Josai University (the same course that I now teach at Josai International University). The photos here are just to give interested people a glimpse of the various flavours of the country. You'll see that most of my photos don't involve people. I guess I was in an anti-social mood when I took the trip. That's what 6 weeks alone in a rentacar will do to you.

I took all of these photos with a Minolta Maxxum 7Xi, and then had them scanned onto a photo CD ROM. The photos here have been formatted to make them smaller for faster downloading, so they're not very high quality. If you want to use them for anything commercial,
please contact me first. I can send you the original high resolution files. Also, my favourite photos are in the section on Prince Edward Island, so I hope you are patient enough to get to them. Enjoy the trip!
